PALLADION provides advanced functionality to troubleshoot problems easily and efficiently
User Tracking
The User Tracking feature is vital for monitoring individual user activities on the network. After entering just a part of the telephone number, PALLADION instantly presents the best matching users. Once the correct user is selected, all user information is presented at a glance: Online-Status, End devices with their firmware versions, Registration soft-state and the complete list of all calls from and to that user, from several months in the past up to the very moment. User tracking allows you to act on fuzzy problem descriptions like “this morning” or “couple of times” in a very precise and professional way without having to ask to reproduce the problem.
User Tracking is one of the most used and most powerful features of the PALLADION suite. Almost any subscriber-related problem can be identified, isolated and analyzed properly.
Call Flow Analysis
Analyzing individual call flows is one of the primary tasks when it comes to NGN troubleshooting. PALLADION allows operators to view any call on the network in real-time from end-to-end and over network/protocol boundaries. To quickly find a problem call is possible by a variety of mechanisms: an IP/user search, filtering by various parameters, looking a certain point in time or simply paging through the global call list.
When a call needs further analysis, PALLADION helps with different levels of information. Call Details show the main aspects of the calls including the numbers involved, audio quality, end devices and servers involved for all call legs. As a next step, the raw protocol messages are available for in-depth protocol analysis. The most powerful feature is the graphical representation of a call in form of an advanced sequence diagram. Call flow diagrams are easily browse-able, the detail level of contained text information can be added and removed with one click, and each protocol message can be opened by clicking on an arrow. The advanced interface allows you to open multiple calls at the same time, and even compare individual protocol messages with feature syntax highlighting, for better readability.
Every call is displayed with in-depth media quality information, both from PALLADION and from the end devices.
Reporting
A typical problem in troubleshooting NGNs is the communication of identified issues. Discussions about a problem and reporting issues are easy using PALLADION’s comprehensive PDF reports, which contain the platform situation, the characteristics of the call, a user comment, audio quality information and all protocol messages in decoded form. The sequence chart, in a fully zoomable format, completes the PDF report and turns it into a highly accurate and efficient way to resolve a problem.
As a second option, PALLADION also allows for exporting the raw protocol messages in the industry standard PCAP format. The raw exports can be used in third party analysis and testing software, and allow you to reproduce a problem in a lab environment.
PALLADION reports save a lot of time when communicating with vendors, support teams or interconnection partners.
